The UJA, Universal Job Application, makes it possible for you to submit a job application (instead of a resume) in a standardized, machine searchable, databaseable format. You can print out a hardcopy application too (along with generating export files) to transmit to your employer. It can be used for private sector, as well as Federal Government, job opportunities. It generates an acceptable US Government OF-612 (& DC-2000). It offers 9 job application types and standardized KSAs. It exports to Lotus, dBASE, ASCII text, and Paradox formats.
The advantages of using the Universal Job Application (UJA) are:
1. Companies can do rapid searches, by computer, for that special set of selection criteria to find the "best" qualified candidates. For example, you could immediately pull up on your screen, the set of all secretaries willing to work at a GS 7 level or below, with greater than 30 months WordPerfect experience, that also type more than 60 wpm. Or perhaps you want a list of all MBA's willing to work for $45,000 per year or less, who speak Japanese fluently and who have checked the willing to travel away from home for 11 or more nights each month, sorted in descending order of minimum required salary.
2. Companies can do statistical analysis of groups, e.g. what's the highest grade completed (educationally) by our managerial candidates?
3. Job Applicants can transmit their application to your companies Bulletin Board, or to a modem in your Human Resources Department, or mail in a diskette.
